SQL Developer Custom Date Time Format Display ?

  • From Oracle SQL Developer menu go to: Tools à
  • From the Preferences dialog, select Database à NLS from the left panel.
  • From the list of NLS parameters, enter DD-MON-RR HH24:MI:SS into the Date Format field.
  • Save and close

How to validate date format display?

  • Run below query in Sterling database
  • select order_closed,  NEXT_ALERT_TS from yfs_order_header;
  • Now we can see date with time also getting displayed;

    One can also use below query , which will show your date and time in desired format for a particular session .

    ALTER session SET NLS_DATE_FORMAT = ‘YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS’;
